Bill was born on 20 October 1920, and he died 17 December 2011.  He is survived by his wife, Audrey, sons Mike and Steve, daughter Karen and two grandchildren.  His fine collections of Cleridae and Buprestidae were donated to the W.F. Barr Entomology Museum, University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho.

Jonas made his Diploma on the revision of the genus Xenorthrius and is now working with Prof. Dr. Jan Habel on integration of molecular phylogenies with morphometric and ecologial data to study evolution and diversification of invertebrates.
